June 16th, 2009 is the 7th anniversary of the very first release of Tux Paint, and thusly has been declared Tux Paint Day!
What is Tux Paint, you ask? It’s a very fun open source drawing program for kids. Some features include a paint brush, rubber stamp, line tool, shape tool, text tool and a very interesting magic tool, which has many options for adding to and affecting your artwork. There are even sound effects.
If you have never played with Tux Paint, now is a great time to experiment with its many drawing features. If you have it already, be advised that they are working on a new version of Tux Paint, which will have over a dozen new magic tools.
